Carbonio CE
Carbonio Custom Logo
Applies a custom logo, login image, and wallpaper to Carbonio CE webmail, with a different look per hosted domain.
It automates the manual Carbonio CE appearance procedure. For each domain it backs up the originals, copies wallpaper.jpg, login.png, and inside_logo.png, patches the login JavaScript, replaces the built-in SVG logo, and sets the browser tab title. The script is under constant development. These changes do not survive a Carbonio upgrade — run it again after every upgrade.
- Linux
How it works
-
Back up the originals
On the first run, it copies the login directory and the JavaScript files it will edit into /opt/zextras/web/backup_orig. Later runs skip the backup if that folder is already there.
-
Images per domain
It collects domains from carbonio gad, accepts extra hostnames on the command line, and copies the three image files into /opt/zextras/web/logos/. Existing folders are left untouched.
-
Login and webmail
The login page loads wallpaper.jpg and login.png from the hostname folder. The built-in SVG logo is replaced with inside_logo.png, and the Carbonio Client tab title is replaced with the string set in the script.
Details
- Where it runs
- Carbonio CE on Linux, as root, with bash and sed. Web files live under /opt/zextras
- Images
- wallpaper.jpg 1920×1080, login.png 602×108 (white background), inside_logo.png 602×108 (transparent background)
- Per domain
- The folder matches the hostname in the address bar. webmail.example.com needs its own folder or a symlink
- After an upgrade
- Carbonio replaces /opt/zextras/web. Put the images back and run the script again

These changes do not survive a Carbonio upgrade. Re-run the script after every upgrade.
The script is under constant development. The strings used to find Carbonio bundles can change between versions; if a search finds nothing, that part is skipped.
